Vital and primary is the role of the Philoptochos, which consists of ladies and young women that preform their philanthropic activities and charities according to the traditions of our Church. The social and philanthropic programs that are carried on every year include the organization of visits to hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages and homes of those-in-need. They also organize other activities such as a Bible study groups, financial support and scholarships, Agapedinners and banquets, cultural and national festivals, and pilgrimages in and outside America, such as the Holy Land and monasteries in Greece.
